Minnesota Thunder Academy – US Soccer Development Academy

MN Thunder Academy Completes Successful Winter Showcase going undefeated at both the U15/16 and U17/18 age groups

December 8, 2011

MN Thunder Academy travelled both US Soccer Developmental Academy teams to Sarasota, Florida for the winter showcase for three out of conference matches. In the end, each team returned home with two wins and tie completing a successful start to the 2011/2012 academy season.

“It was a successful weekend at many different levels. One, our players got better by playing against some of the top-talent in the country.   Two, they gained unmatched exposure from collegiate, professional and national team scouts that any other event in the country can offer. Finally, they got to enjoy the highest level of youth soccer in our country for five days. It was a great event and will serve well as we prepare for the rest of the academy season,” said MTA Development Academy Director Jon Lowery.
